Quiet and solitude, a time to rejunivate, is one of the major holistic principles when it comes to health and healing. The body requires some down time in which to regenerate, restore the life energy and bring the mind to a place where thoughts can move from the conscious to the sub-conscious.
 
The brain waves move from a beta, to an alpha, a delta, and then to theta. They move from a active conscious state to one of deep restorative sleep. Anytime we deprive the body of this needed time, it can't be made up. It lowers the immune system and opens us up to dis-ease.
